Transparent soap?

Here's something one never seems to read about online...
Have you ever tried making transparent soaps from scratch?
If you have, please share your experience and knowledge of made-from-scratch transparent soaps.

I do it on a regular basis

I do it on a regular basis since I picked up Failor's book on liquid soap making.  Her book honestly improved my soap making skills a lot.  Basically you have to hot process the soap.  For liquid soap at least, after it hits it's trace stage, you lower the temp and  you cook it in the crock on the warm setting, as that's about 160*, for 3 hours.  I cook mine overnight so it's fully neutralized, and I get clear soap every time i dilute.  Unless I use a receipe that isn't going ot be clear bcuase of ingredients used.  This is not a good method for milk soaps, leem tell ya!  lol.

Everclear should work

Everclear should work - be sure to enter the % alcohol concentration in the calculator, NOT the "proof" figure.

I've read about it

I've read about it in Alicia Grosso's Everything Soap Making Book and watched Soaping101's youtube video. Finding alcohol at 91% didn't work except isopropyl and I didn't want to smell that. The video used the newer Everclear that is 75.5% alcohol so I'm going to give it a whirl. Wish me luck!
